Kenyan musician and businessman Stephen Karuga Kimani, popularly known as KRG The Don, is commanding the airwaves once again with his latest music release, “TUNA.”
The highly anticipated song was released on September 8, 2026, and has already attracted attention across the Kenyan and wider African music scene. Music platforms list Daddy Andre as the producer, while the song was released under Fast Cash Music Group (FCMG), the music outfit associated with KRG The Don.
“TUNA” marks another chapter in KRG The Don’s music journey, with the project bringing together Kenyan and Ugandan creative talent.
According to music-release reports, the audio was produced by renowned Ugandan producer Daddy Andre, while the accompanying visuals were directed by Simon SPK. The collaboration gives the new release a distinct East African creative connection.
The song was released alongside its official music video, adding a visual component to KRG’s latest musical offering.
KRG The Don continues to maintain a presence in Kenya’s entertainment industry through both his music and business ventures. His association with Fast Cash Music Group has also seen the label become part of his wider entertainment brand.
Away from music, KRG The Don has also been making headlines over his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The musician has publicly expressed his intention to contest for the Nairobi Senatorial seat. Various sources reported in November 2025 that KRG had revealed his interest in the Nairobi Senate position, following earlier statements about entering elective politics.
His political ambitions have evolved over time. In 2024, KRG had spoken about his intention to pursue an MP seat without initially revealing the specific constituency. By late 2025, reports documented his shift toward the Nairobi Senate race.
The move places KRG among a number of Kenyan entertainers who have expressed interest in elective politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
KRG The Don’s transition from entertainment and business into politics has once again sparked conversation about the growing involvement of Kenyan artists, comedians and other creatives in public affairs.
Artists and content creators often have large audiences and established public platforms, which can give them significant visibility when they enter civic and political spaces. At the same time, elective office comes with responsibilities that extend beyond entertainment, including legislation, representation and oversight.
As KRG prepares to pursue his political ambitions while continuing his music career, the conversation around celebrities entering politics is likely to remain part of Kenya’s public discourse.
