Ugandan music icon Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, has arrived in Dar es Salaam ahead of his highly anticipated performance at the Bongo Flava Honors concert scheduled for Friday, 31st July, at the Super Dome, Masaki.

The legendary East African singer landed in Tanzania yesterday accompanied by his mother, making the visit even more special. Speaking during a press conference shortly after his arrival, Chameleone revealed that it was his mother’s first-ever visit to Tanzania.

«”This is the first time that my mother is stepping in Tanzania. When she heard that her son was being honoured, she couldn’t be left behind, and that’s why she is here with me,” said Jose Chameleone.»

The emotional moment highlighted the significance of the recognition that the Ugandan superstar is receiving from the Tanzanian music industry.

Bongo Flava Honors is a specially curated event organized by Tanzanian hip-hop legend Mr. II, popularly known as Sugu, to celebrate and recognize legendary musicians who have made an outstanding contribution to East African music.

Jose Chameleone becomes the first artist from outside Tanzania to receive this prestigious honour, underscoring his immense influence across the region.
