KUTIT CULTURE 2026: JOSE CHAMELEONE SURPRISES FANS AS KALENJIN FESTIVAL DELIVERS SOLD-OUT NAIROBI SHOW

Kutit Culture 2026 has been hailed as a major success after the highly anticipated Kalenjin festival delivered a sold-out entertainment experience over the weekend at Carnivore Grounds in Nairobi.

The festival, curated by Kalee Nation and led by popular Kalenjin content creator and MC Brobox, alongside DJ Sutai, brought together music lovers for a day filled with live performances, entertainment and cultural celebration.

One of the biggest highlights of the event was the surprise appearance of Ugandan legendary musician Jose Chameleone, whose arrival on stage sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Chameleone opened his performance with his popular thanksgiving song “Tubonge,” praising and thanking the Almighty God. The unexpected appearance immediately transformed the atmosphere, with fans singing along, cheering and celebrating the East African music icon.

The legendary Ugandan musician went on to deliver some of his biggest hits, reminding the Nairobi audience why he remains one of the most respected musicians in East Africa.

Although Kutit Culture is primarily a celebration of Kalenjin culture and music, this year’s edition showcased a growing effort to create room for artists from outside Kalenjin communities.

The inclusion of Jose Chameleone is one of the clearest examples of the festival’s expanding approach to entertainment, bringing together different cultures and musical audiences under one platform.

This diversification adds a new dimension to Kutit Culture and could help position the festival as one of the major cultural and entertainment events in Nairobi.

Kenyan hitmaker Mejja Okwonko, who was the main headliner, also delivered a memorable performance.

Known for his energetic stage presence and catalogue of popular hits, Mejja did what he does best, keeping the crowd entertained and singing along throughout his set.

His performance, combined with Chameleone’s surprise appearance and performances from various Kalenjin artists, helped make the festival a memorable experience for attendees.

The sold-out turnout demonstrated the growing popularity of Kalenjin cultural festivals in Nairobi and beyond. Kutit Culture has continued to attract attention by combining music, culture and entertainment while creating a platform for artists and creatives.

The successful 2026 edition also provides a strong foundation for future editions as organizers look to make the festival bigger and better.

Aperit FM congratulates Kalee Nation, Brobox, DJ Sutai and the entire Kutit Culture team for delivering a well-executed event.
