Kenyan dancehall star Dufla Diligon is once again showcasing a different side of his artistry with the release of a new traditional music project, “Achamayong,” a collaboration with Samburu’s finest musician Saningo Dimero.
While many fans know Dufla Diligon for his dancehall and contemporary music, the artist has a strong connection to traditional music and culture. Originally from Baragoi in Samburu County, Dufla comes from the Turkana community, which predominantly occupies Turkana County, with part of the community also found in areas of Samburu County.
“Achamayong” brings together two rich cultural traditions, blending Samburu and Turkana sounds in a song that celebrates and praises women.
The collaboration with Saningo Dimero, one of Samburu’s celebrated musicians, creates a unique cultural fusion that highlights the similarities and diversity of the two communities.
