Kenyan legendary musician David Mathenge, popularly known as Nameless, has marked an incredible 25 years in the music industry with a spectacular sold-out concert at Carnivore Grounds.
The highly anticipated Nameless 25 Years Celebration brought together some of East Africa’s biggest music legends and new-generation stars, creating a memorable night for fans who came out in large numbers to celebrate one of Kenya’s most influential musicians.

In Tanzania, the music industry is also celebrating 30 years of Bongo Flava, with a series of concerts honouring musicians who have played a significant role in shaping the popular Tanzanian sound.
These celebrations appear to signal a growing trend where musicians are taking charge of their own career milestones by curating and financing major concerts rather than relying entirely on traditional event promoters.
For many years, major music shows in Kenya and across East Africa were largely organised by promoters, who selected the performers and controlled the event concept.
The recent wave of anniversary concerts, however, suggests that established artists are increasingly recognising the value of creating their own platforms to celebrate their journeys, connect directly with fans and showcase their musical legacies.
