Digital creator Lillian Ng’ang’a has defended gospel musician Mercy Masika’s “Becoming a Wife” masterclass, which has sparked debate online, questioning why some people are criticising a woman for sharing lessons from her marriage.
In a video shared on social media, Lillian argued that love and companionship remain important to many people despite the challenges associated with marriage.
She argued that people should be open to learning from others who believe they have found what works in their relationships.
“Those triggered are the ones who want marriage deep down, but pretend they don’t,” she said.
Lillian said she was surprised by the negative reactions, arguing that even people who do not intend to marry could benefit from learning about relationships.
“She’s good in her marriage. It has worked. And she wants to share that with us. So why are we attacking her?” she posed.
She added that she would gladly attend the masterclass, describing it as an opportunity to learn from someone who believes she has found what works in her marriage.

Lillian also challenged critics to reflect on why the discussion bothered them rather than attacking the woman behind it.
“I wish I could attend it,” she said, adding that people who disagree with the idea could consider sharing their own relationship advice instead.
