CS OGAMBA URGES STRIKING UNIVERSITY LECTURERS TO RESUME WORK

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has urged striking university lecturers to return to work as the government seeks to resolve outstanding issues under the 2025–2029 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Speaking during the 10th graduation ceremony at Thika Technical Training Institute, Ogamba said the government remains committed to negotiating the current agreement with university staff unions and resolving outstanding disagreements within the agreed timelines.

Ogamba appealed to lecturers to resume teaching and allow negotiations to continue, warning that prolonged industrial action could disrupt students’ education.
