Hundreds of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delegates in Nandi have protested what they termed as inefficiency and poor coordination by party officials during a sensitization exercise in Kapsabet.

The delegates accused party organs of failing to provide basic logistical support, including transport, lunch and party branding materials such as T-shirts and caps.

The disgruntled delegates said the lack of adequate facilitation had frustrated party activities and questioned how officials were managing grassroots engagements ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in Kapsabet, the delegates alleged that party officials had failed to effectively coordinate activities at the grassroots, calling for greater accountability and proper planning.

The protests reportedly disrupted the exercise, with the delegates demanding answers from the officials over the logistical challenges.

The concerns come at a time when UDA is undertaking grassroots activities as it prepares its structures for the next phase of its grassroots elections. The party has previously conducted sensitization exercises across several counties, including Nandi.

Recent UDA grassroots meetings in other parts of the Rift Valley have also faced protests over allowances and distribution of party merchandise, highlighting concerns raised by some delegates about the management of grassroots activities.
