KITUTU MASABA MP GISAIRO SURVIVES NIGHT CRASH AS QUESTIONS EMERGE OVER GOVERNMENT VEHICLE AT SCENE

Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Ombane Gisairo has spoken out after he was involved in a road accident while travelling to Nairobi from his constituency on Monday night.

Gisairo said the accident happened after their vehicle was hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu D-Max, registration KDX 961T, which he said is registered to Isuzu Kenya and leased to the Ministry of Interior.

According to the MP, the impact caused the pickup to lose control and roll down the road shoulder. His driver, he said, managed to bring their vehicle to a safe stop despite losing the rear right tyre.

Gisairo said they assisted the two occupants of the Isuzu D-Max before they were taken away in a government vehicle, GKB 787J, shortly after traffic police arrived at the scene.

The MP questioned the manner in which the two occupants were removed from the scene, saying the proper procedures were not followed in the presence of traffic officers.

“I can confirm that I have reported the matter to the relevant agencies and they are cooperating in the investigations,” Gisairo said.

He added that the Ministry of Interior had identified the two people who were in the vehicle, as well as other ministry officers who allegedly took them away from the scene.

Gisairo said he expects the matter to be fully investigated and any officers found culpable to face disciplinary action in accordance with the law.

The MP also moved to reassure his supporters that he was safe following the accident, although he sustained muscle strains from the impact.

“Most importantly, I would like to say that we are safe except for the muscle pulls of absorbing the impact,” he said.
